Of course, I couldn't go on a road trip without picking up some local whiskey. The owner of @tumbleweedspirits had a booth at the Osoyoos farmers market and I tasted all the ones he brought. The limited edition on the left is a bourbon style made with a blend of corn, rye and barley mash. It has the brown sugar characteristics of bourbon without the strong corn taste. It is a special edition of 500 bottles they made with $25 of each bottle being donated to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The rye was also very smooth. These are 100% locally sourced, distilled and bottled. Apparently, BC is very strict about how spirits are manufactured, so everything here is made from the raw ingredients, not stretched with cheap fillers like ethanol like the mass produced brands.

We had over 120 people of all ages for lunch today to enjoy roast beef & mashed potatoes. We do this for only $5 so that anyone in the valley can have an affordable hot lunch.

After yet another home improvement project this weekend that involved using an old screwdriver as a chisel and eyeball-cutting a mitered corner with a tiny hack saw, I went out and bought a set of power tools and a new set of screwdrivers. That all but assures that I won't be doing any more projects anytime soon. But at least now I can hold them and make Tool Time grunt sounds.🔧🔨🪛🛠
